This talk will focus on particle image velocimetry (PIV) within planar and volumetric domains of complex flows.
Results from several experiments will be presented and discussed in which PIV is used on its own or in combination with high speed visualization
and discrete particle tracking. These will include investigation of eddy structure and organization in single-phase and particle-laden turbulent
flows, drop collisions and coalescence in liquid/liquid mixtures, and predator/prey interactions in aquatic flows.
